Crochet Amigurumi Pattern



Here you’ll find the instructions to make your own Martín!


Important: this doll is not suitable for toddlers or little children since it has wire.

The final size of the doll is 14cm (6 inches approx), if made with a similar yarn.

 


Materials:

-Acqua, lilac, light blue and pink cotton yarn. (I used a yarn similar to YarnArt jeans)

-10mm safety eyes

-2.75mm (C2) crochet hook

-Black, White and pink embroidery thread

-Small safety nose

-Yarn needle

-Scissors

-Stitch marker

-Fiberfill for stuffing

-10cm (4-inch) wire piece (check if it fits the length of the arms and body together.

-12cm (5-inch) wire piece to simulate the balloon thread.

 

Abbreviations:

mr: magic ring

sc: single crochet

inc: increase

dec: decrease

hdc: half double crochet

ch: chain

BLO: back loops only

FLO: front loops only

( )xnumber: repeat x times

(x): stitches at the end of the round

Sl st: slip stitch

 


Arms:

Make 2

Use acqua

Do not stuff

1. 7sc in mr

2. – 9. (8 rounds) 7sc (7)

Cut the yarn

 

Legs:

Make 2, DO NOT CUT the thread on the second leg

Stuff as you go

Use acqua

1. 6sc in mr

2. 6inc (12)

3. – 9. (7 rounds) 12sc (12)

Don’t cut the thread on the second leg and continue in body

 

Body:

Continue from legs

Stuff as you go

1. Make 2ch and work 12sc on the first leg, 2sc in ch, 12sc in the second leg, 2sc in ch. Use the stitch marker. This will be the start of the round (28)

2. – 3. (2 rounds) 28sc (28)

4. 4sc, dec, 12sc, dec, 8sc (26)

5. (1 round) 26sc (26)

6. 10sc, dec, 12sc, dec (24)

7. (1 round) 24sc (24)

8. 3sc, dec, 10sc, dec, 7sc (22)

Now, attach the arms to the body. Leave 3 stitches free because we will continue working on round 10 with them.

9. 2sc, (sc, dec, sc) on both the arm and the body, 7sc (sc, dec, sc)on both the arm and the body, 5sc (20)

10. 2sc, (sc, dec)on the arm, 7sc, (dec, sc)on the arm, 5sc (18)

Insert the wire on the arms and stuff the body.

Attach eyes between rounds 19 & 20 with 7 visible stitches between them.

Cut the thread and finish off

 

Embroider the eye detail with White thread. With black thread embroider the eyelashes and the eyebrows on round 22. Use pink thread to embroider the cheeks under the eyes.

 

Muzzle:

Use acqua

1. 6sc in mr (6)

3. (sc, inc)x6 (18)

4. (1 round) 18sc (18)

Cut a long thread to sew it.

Attach the nose between rounds 1 and 2, stuff the muzzle and sew it between the eyes and on rounds 15 to 21.

 

Ears:

Usa acqua.

Make 2

Work in rows

1. 2ch, start on the second ch from hook

2. 1inc (2), 1ch, turn

3. 2inc (4), 1ch, turn

4. 1inc, 2sc, 1inc (6), 1ch, turn

5. – 9 (5 rows) 6sc, 1ch, turn

Work around the ear making 1inc on the corner (tip) of it.

Cut a long thread and sew it to the head between rounds 23 & 30. Fold the ears a little bit.

 

Tail:

1. 3sc in mr (3)

2. 1inc, 2sc (4)

3. (1 round) 4sc (4)

4. 1inc, 3sc (5)

5. -6. (2 rounds) 5sc (5)

Cut a long thread and sew it to the body

 

Bow tie:

Use light blue:

1.  10ch, start on the 3rd ch from hook

2. 3hdc, 2sl st, 3hdc.

Cut a long thread and use it to roll around the middle of the bow tie. Sew it to  Martín’s neck.

 

Little hat:

Use lilac

1. 6sc in mr (6)

2. 6inc (12)

3. (1 round) 12sc BLO (12)

4. (sc, inc)x6 FLO (18)

Cut a long thread for sewing.

 

Using a piece of light blue thread, embroider a line on the hat. See images as reference.

Sew the hat between rounds 27 & 31 between both ears.

 

Heart:

Use pink

Make two initial pieces. Do not cut the thread on the second piece

1. 6sc in mr (6)

2. 6inc (12)

3. (1 round) 12sc (12)

Cut the thread only on the second piece.

Join both pieces:

4. Start working on the first piece and make 12sc, 12sc on the second piece. Attach the stitch marker. This will be the start of the round.

Stuff as you go

5. (4sc, dec)x4 (20)

6. (1 round) 20sc (20)

7. (3sc, dec)x4 (16)

8. (2sc, dec)x4 (12)

9. (sc, dec)x4 (8)

10. 4dec (4)

Insert the white wire inside the heart and sew it tightly.

Insert the other end of the wire on Martín’s arm as if he’s holding it.

 

And you’re done! You have finished Martín!
